The Job Search and Skills to Market Yourself in the Job Market
Over the next couple of days we will focus on:
Creating a skills focused Resume following the template provided. This format is preferred in the business world, and it works especially well for young people who do not have any formal work experience.
Creating a Reference Page: Prepare a separate page to list references. Refer to the guideline page for creating a Reference Page.
Creating a Cover Letter: Compose a cover letter for your resume. Address the letter and its contents to your requested co-op placement. Refer to the information pages and template. This letter is intended as an exercise only. It does not get delivered to your co-op employer!
Completing an Application Form (Found on google form): Complete a sample Application Form. Fill out the form as if you are applying for your co-op workplace. Complete a rough draft first.
Reviewing Interview Skills (Found on google form): Read the information pages on preparing for and participating in an interview. Complete an activity to begin preparing for common interview questions.
