Program Overview

This program is intended to provide students with opportunities to:

• 1. Complete Level 1 of the Apprenticeship in the chosen trade with a delivering agent (e.g. Durham College)

  2. Earn secondary school credits at a trade based placement, acquiring hours towards the apprenticeship program

  3. experience on-the-job training that will help them to prepare for the eventual transition to the world of work

  4. experience a broader range of skills, attitudes and interpersonal relations

  5. receive counselling which will contribute to their growth and development as responsible workers

  6. Obtain real experience to record on their resumes that will assist in entering the job market
