Great-Beginnings-At-Home-Package-2020-2021-Final-1.pdf

Great Beginnings Learn From Home

This is a program available for families to engage in, with their children, in an at-home learning environment. Each activity has a brief explanation of the connection to children’s social and emotional development, as well as sixteen activities you can explore to enhance their development. Included at the end of the package is a developmental checklist you may wish to use, based on the age of your child, to help inform you of where your child is in their development and where they are going next. It is a great tool for families to use to help support their child in their learning journey. (Package Attached.)

DDSB Kindergarten Parent Questionnaire April 2020 (1).docx

Kindergarten Questionnaire

A questionnaire that has important information regarding your child. These questionnaires are to be shared with educators once class placements are completed, to help give educators a better understanding of the children coming into their classroom in September. This also allows educators to focus on creating a sense of belonging at the beginning of the school year by understanding the needs, preferences and interests of the students in the classroom. (Questionnaire attached – many families have already completed this in person or have emailed back. Only send if you have not completed previously.)

School Messenger and Safe Arrival

Parents are responsible to register for Safe Arrival which is used for your child's attendance safety and immediate notifications from school.

School Cash

Parents are responsible to build an account for payment of field trips, School Wear and Lunch Program. All funding will go through this site.

Parent Portal

The parent portal is available to all Durham District School Board (DDSB) parents and guardians. Through the portal you can view your child's homeroom assignment, attendance history and grades. You can also set up SchoolCash and SchoolMessenger accounts through the portal.
