Coach Destini Cooper was born and raised in Jacksonville, Fl. Her passion for dance has been nurtured since birth. She trained in dance both in and out of school from middle school to high school. She has experience and training in multiple dance styles such as ballet, jazz, modern, cheer, pom, auxiliary, and more. During her high school years, she participated in the marching band dance line and became the captain of the team.
After graduating from high school, she moved to Atlanta, Ga to attend Clark Atlanta University and joined The Mighty Marching Panthers Essence Dance Line. Although she graduated from Georgia State University, she was still allowed to be involved and became a captain of The Essence Dance Line as well. In addition to being the head coach of The DCHS Incomparable Tigerettes, she is also the assistant coach to The Essence Dance Line, where her love and passion for auxiliary-style dance flourished even more.
At present, Coach Cooper is committed to spreading dance education and passion to the next generation. She’s hopeful that as a dance coach, she will be able to lead by example, showing them the many ways dance can be used as a means of expression, discipline, creativity, and even an outlet during difficult times in life. One of her main goals is to prepare her students for their future careers in dance and all the opportunities dance can afford them, if that’s what they choose, while also guiding and molding them to become outstanding young ladies.
Aside from dance, Coach Cooper enjoys church, music, and cultural festivals, live musical performances, binge watching tv shows, Marvel movies, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband, Mr. Reshae Cooper.
