Coach Lydia VanKooten joins the Ranch Swim and Dive Team for her second as an Assistant Coach. She is a Colorado native and recently graduated from the University of Denver with her Bachelor's in Marketing. She started her swimming career at the age of 5 in summer league, and transitioned to year round swimming at the age of 7. Lydia graduated from Littleton High School, where she swam on their varsity team. Lydia continued to swim club throughout college, and she continues to swim on her own. She loves sharing her joy for the sport through coaching.
In 2014, Lydia started as an Assistant Coach and swim lesson instructor for Skyline Acres Swim and Tennis Club, and became the Head Coach and Aquatics Director in 2018. She also was an Age Group Coach at Highlands Ranch Aquatics. She is currently in her second season as an Assistant Coach for SlipStream Aquatics and Heritage High School's girls JV swim team.
Off the pool deck, Lydia loves playing tennis and volleyball, spending time with her two dogs, and trying to master the perfect macaron recipe.
