We have many students in our program who have life-threatening allergies to nuts and/or peanuts. To ensure the safety of all students we serve, we ask that peanut products or nuts not be brought to school.
Because of our nut restricted environment, Little Pups Pre-K no longer allows students to bring treats to share with the class for birthdays. Instead, we celebrate with "Birthday Circle Time," where your child can share a baby photo and bring their favorite book to read to their class. If you wish to bring in something non-edible, that is OK. Past items have included: stickers, coloring books, pencils, or another type of small trinket. We do still have celebrations for holidays that include food with goodies from an approved list provided by the school. While we strive to limit all products that contain nuts or are manufactured in a facility that contains nuts, not all labeling is consistent and it is possible that some products with nuts may enter the school. All staff make every effort to limit this from happening.
What products are not to be brought to school? Please do not send the most obvious nut and peanut products for lunch or snacks. Please review package labeling to help us eliminate this risk at school. Some items include: peanut butter and nuts (i.e. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers, Peanut M & M’s, Trail mix, Pecan Rolls, Turtles)
