Program Overview:

What is it? PLTW is a rigorous and innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education curricular model. PLTW’s comprehensive curriculum promotes critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and real-world problem-solving skills in students. The hands-on, project-based program engages students on multiple levels, exposes them to areas of study that they typically do not pursue in a traditional classroom environment, and provides them with a foundation and proven path to college and career success.

What type of courses?

PLTW Foundation Courses offered to ANY 9^th and 10^th grade student will include: Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) and Engineering 1-Principles of Engineering (POE). Subsequent courses offered annually include Aerospace Engineering (AE), Civil Engineering & Architecture (CEA), and Engineering Design & Development (EDD-AP/PLTW). All of the courses are classified as concurrent enrollment coursework offered through the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs(UCCS).
