Welcome to First Grade!!!!  I am thrilled to share that I will be your first grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.  I am looking forward to meeting you real soon. I can’t wait to get to know you… and for some of you, catch up!

This is my 26th year teaching children.  I began my career teaching in Harrison School District 2 (Colorado Springs) for three years before relocating to Douglas County Schools, and have been teaching at Eldorado Elementary for the last sixteen.  I am incredibly lucky and blessed to work with such an amazingly talented team and staff at Eldorado everyday. Go Panthers!

My husband and I have two beautiful daughters who keep us very busy.  Aubrey is 15 years old and will be a tenth grader at Cherokee Trail High School.  Kayla is 13, and will be an eighth grader at Fox Ridge Middle School.  I am still in denial that I will have one in high school and one in middle school!  If these schools don't sound familiar, it’s because it is the neighborhood school where we live within the Cherry Creek School District.  Aubrey loves choir, flag football, and golf and Kayla loves everything volleyball.  They both like campfires, tubing behind the boat, and of course shopping. The girls continued to ride their dirt bikes over the summer... a dream come true for Dad and a stresser for Mom!  And yes, I have my own dirt bike as well, so we can ride as a family.  Last, but certainly not least, I can’t forget to tell you about our amazing puppy Macie.  She is an Aussiedoodle (a mini Australian Shepherd Poodle) and is extremely smart and loving.  If you look closely you can see that she has one blue eye and one brown eye which makes her unique and special. What makes you unique and special?

Joel and I have been married for nineteen years, and have a home on a golf course in Aurora (Blackstone Country Club).  As a family we love to go camping either in the beautiful Colorado mountains or at Lake Glendo, WY or Wilson Lake, KS. We love spending time with our friends and family as our “Village” is very important to us.  I have an identical twin sister, Julie who has two boys, Dillon and TJ.  My brother, Cory, has two little girls named Olivia and Adeline.  I can’t wait to tell you crazy stories about all of them!  I also LOVE reading and can’t wait to share some of my favorite books with you.  Maybe they will become your favorites too!
