Welcome!
Hello, Eagle Ridge families!
My name is Mia Johnson, and I am so excited to be returning for my second year teaching Kindergarten at Eagle Ridge! As a proud Colorado native—and a former student in the Douglas County School District—this community holds a special place in my heart.
I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. In my first year of teaching, I grew so much as an educator and deepened my passion for early literacy and creating a classroom where every child feels seen, supported, and excited to learn.
Teaching runs in my family, and I’m so grateful to be following in the footsteps of my mom, who teaches preschool at Colorado Christian Academy. My younger sister is also pursuing Early Childhood Education at CSU. Being surrounded by passionate educators has shaped who I am and continues to inspire my work in the classroom.
My goal is to create a welcoming and engaging classroom community where students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Outside of teaching, I love spending time outdoors, doing Pilates, crafting, and being with my family and my 16-year-old dog, Greta!
I am so excited for another wonderful year at Eagle Ridge and can’t wait to meet you and your kindergartener! I look forward to partnering with you to make this a joyful and successful year of learning and growth.
