If you like research and learning about topics related to science and engineering, start with a research design project.
Engineering is the application of science and technology to solving a problem. Invention is really about engineering a solution. This can be:
1) Researching a topic related to science, innovation, or engineering
2) Discovering the relevance to our current society and environment.
3) Learn about the history, people and/or dates related to a specific topic
This document will help you get started with your research design project and can be used by all students, grades K-6. It will provide you with a great checklist of items to include on your display board. It is also VERY important that you take a close look at the research design rubric for your grade level. Find the Spanish version of this document here.
The students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will not be judged on a rubric the day of the fair. They will have the opportunity to share their work and learning with a judge. These students should refer to the Project Guidelines document to help guide their process. All students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will receive a participation ribbon.
This is the Spanish rubric that will be used for the primary students; those in Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades. It is VERY important that you take a look at it BEFORE you begin working, WHILE you are working, and AFTER you are done working and preparing to share your work.
