Hello families!
I have served Douglas County School BASE Programs since 2009! I have a passion for working with elementary students and families, partnering with them, learning with them, and creating a safe place where growth and exploration is encouraged and celebrated! I care deeply for the people within our community and will do my best to meet them halfway, support them and help set them on a path for success.
I have a silly & playful, fun-loving & tough-loving, realistic yet encouraging, informative & dedicated personality.
My favorite color is purple but I love ALL colors! I have two dogs; their names are Boogie & Sugaree. I have three younger sisters and one younger brother whom I love dearly. Some of my hobbies include spending time with family, sleeping, hammock lounging, hula-hooping, camping, anything outdoors, concerts, art, and fashion!

My name is Azucena but the kids call me Ms. Suzi. I've been working with the district for three years and I love it. In my free time, I love to hangout with my nieces and nephews and I love to bake. I also have two amazing dogs named Pillie and Gizmo.

Here is a little bit about me; I'm Jordan, I am originally from South Africa and moved to America in 2015 with my parents and younger brother! Over the last few years, I have discovered my love of music and passion for painting, as well as gymnastics and contemporary dance. I spend as much time as possible outside. Whether I am camping with my family, going on hikes with friends, or carrying my painting supplies to a beautiful view, I have always found peace in nature. At heart, I am an adventurer. My dream is to explore all the wonderful places around the world and experience life in a free, culturally rich, and diverse way.
I love working with younger kids because it is a wonderful opportunity to see their creativity and abilities grow and develop as they discover who they are and explore the world around them. It's my hope that I will be able to make a difference in their lives and be someone they can look up to and trust. My desire is for them to be able to enjoy an exciting, comfortable, and safe space where they can express themselves freely and make connections with those around them in an environment where they can simply be who they are. It will be an amazing chance to share my experiences and develop trusting and safe relationships with the kids, providing them a perspective of appreciation for the differences of their peers and embrace diversity of the world around them.

Hello everyone! My name is Shawn Cousins and I am super excited to be joining the Cougar Run BASE program! I am a student teacher in Mrs. Dunham's 3rd grade classroom at Cougar Run this year, so the students know me as Mr. Cousins. I am currently a senior at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and I am scheduled to graduate this year with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I am originally from Pennsylvania but have grown up in Colorado over the last 13 years. I went to Redstone Elementary for 4th and 5th, STEM for middle school and Skyview Academy for high school. I am truly blessed to have this opportunity to work with your students and I am excited to share many memories with them this year! Thank you!

Hello! My name is Makenna Crawford, I am 17 years old, and have lived in Colorado for two years now! I have always had a passion for taking care of kids and have wanted to be a kindergarten teacher for as long as I can remember. In my free time I babysit many families and nanny in the summer! I have done summer camps for pre k, and helped at the ymca daycare program. I also go to Legacy campus for half of the day and learn about children’s development and then go into a kindergarten classroom to get as much experience as possible before college.
