Summer 2025 Updates
We are excited to welcome our incoming kindergarteners who meet the requirements below beginning in July 2025!
Your child must be enrolled in elementary school to attend our summer program! Incoming Kindergarteners who are at least 5 years of age, may begin on July 6th, 2025. Incoming kindergarteners who are 4 years of age, may begin on their first full day of school in August. You may register your incoming Kindergartener in May for the 2025-2026 school year through the registration page on the Cougar Club Website!
Please be advised that we are a first come, first serve and pre-pay program. We cannot guarantee a 100% availability each week, however we do use a waitlist in case of cancellations. Please email kbrown1@dcsdk12.org to be waitlisted for a session. If a spot becomes available we will contact you (sometimes we don't know till the day of the opening). We do not issue refunds, credits or switching of days (See Parent Handbook).
We have a 1 Staff to 15 Student ratio mandated by the state of colorado. We will cap our Summer Full day sessions between 30-45 students depending on available staffing and based on the daily activity. Some venues require a 1:10 ratio, like swimming.
Per district requirements, EVERY field trip will need a DCSD waiver filled out! Some trips may also require that you fill out an additional waiver for the venue/facility we are visiting. We will take a district school bus or a charter bus for off-site trips. Some on-site activities will also require a waiver. There will be no on-site provisions, and all children in attendance will be expected to come on the field trip.
YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES WITHOUT REQUIRED WAIVERS!
We aim to release our Summer Activity Calendar, Required Forms/ Waivers, etc. by April of each year. If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to kbrown1@dcsdk12.org or call our office at 303-387-6709. We will be happy to answer any other questions for you.
See you this Summer!
Signing your children In/Out of the Program
Please ensure that you sign your children in and out of the program using your PIN number from School Care Works.
If you are a split family, then you must use the PIN that corresponds with the PAID account for that session in order to avoid discrepancies and possible drop-in charges.
CCAP families must sign in/out of the program TWICE! Once with the school care works app on the ipads and once with the Colorado Shine CCAP portal in the Safari app. If you do not keep current with your sign-in/out on BOTH systems, you run the risk of being charged additional fees, slating involuntary absences, and, worst case - the loss of CCAP privileges altogether (which would be decided by your case worker, not BASE). Please reach out to your caseworker for more details on how CCAP works.
