Meet Miss Lelo

Hi! My Name is Miss Amanda Lelo! I am the Physical Education teacher for the 2018-2019 school year! This will be my 2nd year teaching at Heritage Elementary. Last year I had a blast getting to know all of the amazing students and families here at Heritage! My past teaching experience includes teaching Physical Education & Health for 4 years in a southwest Chicago suburb. In my pastime I enjoy hiking, running, intramural sports, snowboarding, attending sporting events, and being active while exploring all that Colorado has to offer!

My Childhood:

I grew up in Tinley Park, Illinois- a southwest suburb of Chicago. Growing up I was a very active child and participated in a variety of sports. This participation helped me develop in the areas of communication, collaboration, and confidence. Combined they helped me become the person I am today : ) I developed my passion for health and wellness early on!

My Education:

In December of 2009, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree with a major in Physical Education (K-12) and a minor in Health Studies from Eastern Illinois University. I returned to EIU in 2010 as a graduate assistant and taught Kindergarten Physical Education while earning my master’s degree in Sports Administration.
