Many artists and educators are finding ways to creatively connect with students and school communities through virtual arts programs, events, and resources. We have partnered with Citi BOCES on a Virtual AIE Opportunities Catalog to help our school districts continue to provide a wide variety of arts learning experiences for their students.

Students will be taught the importance of treating their Teachers, Parents/Guardians, and Classmates with Respect. They are taught the value of kindness and how to treat others the way they themselves would like to be treated. Self-Respect is also taught and the importance of eating healthy, staying active, having a great attitude, being responsible and ready to learn!
Totally Vocally!: Ball in the House Virtual School Show Promo

Through contemporary & classic cover songs and original works, Ball in the House (BitH) will discuss and teach many aspects of music and performance. Students will discover what “a cappella” is and how it works, explore the technology behind a sound system, hear the various voice parts and how they fit together to make harmony and songs, learn how to beatbox and use rhythm, experience the history of a cappella singing from chant through doo wop, get introduced to songwriting and collaboration, and have a chance to ask questions. The program also addresses the teamwork aspect of performing together and how BitH needs to work together as people and as voices.
Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers

Professionally-filmed performance of Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers, a new children’s opera from composer Kamala Sankaram. The opera fuses monkey stories from India, China, and West Africa to tell the story of Monkey and his brainy sister Francine. They must learn to work together and use their smarts to escape the hungry Crocodile and outwit the greedy Lord of the Tigers. With a mix of musical styles from Bollywood, opera, and Ethiopian jazz & relatable, contemporary language and characters, the opera conveys a timely message of unity – that together, respecting individual differences and strengths, anything can be accomplished.

This program of community dancing and music helps students to develop an awareness that every culture around the world has its own robust traditions in music and dance.
Students are introduced to the origins, sounds and uses of folk instruments - including fiddle, banjo, ukulele, clarinet, recorder, and guitar.
These videos are chock-full of virtual community–building activities that get everyone up and moving. By participating in folk dances and singing games, students experience a variety of styles and customs from different countries.
