Cooperative Service for school districts in the Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Oneida BOCES & the Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES Coordinated by DCMO BOCES
The DCMO BOCES Arts In Education (AIE) cooperative service provides arts and arts-integrated learning experiences for students and teachers from school districts in the Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Oneida BOCES and the Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES regions.
AIE coordinates school district partnerships with a variety of arts and cultural resources, including museums, libraries, historical sites, performing arts centers, arts organizations, and teaching artists, to provide arts-related performances, workshops, residencies, field trips, and exhibits connected to NYS Learning Standards and curriculum. Staff development related to a specific arts activity may also be provided.
Experiences in music, dance, theater, visual arts, media arts, and literature/writing, help students gain understanding of the artistic process, create meaning in other academic subjects, and make cultural and community connections, while learning about career options in the arts.
