The course aims to help you to understand how the world of today has come about and to find more about some of the famous (and infamous) people and events that have influenced it.
This is a GCSE course. History GCSE (Edexcel) is assessed through 100% examination. There are 3 written exams, covering the four topics. The exam assesses your ability to write extended explanations, critically analyse sources and present your own reasoned argument.
Lessons are delivered to incorporate different learning approaches, from extended answers, knowledge quizzes to class debates. Students who find joy in reading and writing are well suited to a history GCSE.
