Festival Coordinator: Eric Mohlis, eric.mohlis@dcgschools.com
We are excited to announce our 4th Annual DCG Choral Festival on Wednesday, April 29th, 2026. This event features groups from all classes to participate in a non-competitive Choral Festival aimed to prepare you and your students for IHSMA Large Group. This years clinicians are: Dr. Ryan Person (Morningside), Dr. Tim McMillian (DMVAE), and Dr. Jon Arnold (Simpson). Past clinicians have included Dr. Andrew Last, Professor Luke Lovegood, Dr. Mark Babcock, Dr. Sara Blessing, and Dr. James Thompson.
Each group will get 20 minutes to take the stage, perform, and receive feedback from one of the clinicians. After 20 minutes, each group will move to a clinic room where they will work with another clinician that watched your performance to continue giving you more feedback. These clinicians will all be college level directors that will help you dig into your music and prepare for IHSMA Large Group.
Each group will also receive a comment and score sheet in order to have some numerical feedback to work with. This is a non-competitive festival. No group will know any other group's scores. This will just give you the ability to have written feedback and some numbers to help you prioritize the needs of your groups.
Before or after performing, we encourage schools to watch other groups perform in order to help build up a community fostering support and excellence in choral music!
Limited space remains for the 2026 festival. If you would like more information or to get on the list for future announcements, please email eric.mohlis@dcgschools.com to be added to our registration email.
Please contact Eric Mohlis (eric.mohlis@dcgschools.com) if you have any questions. We look forward to hosting many of you again for this exciting choral opportunity!
