DCG Girls basketball is a program that will facilitate the growth of young women physically, mentally, and emotionally. The girls basketball program will strive for excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in life.

Mission Statement

5 Areas our DCG Girls Basketball Program strives to focus on so we can be successful on a consistent basis

Build Positive Relationships – Players and coaches must have a trusting relationship. The players will work hard for a coach they trust is working hard for them. Positive relationships create positive attitudes. Positive attitudes generate a successful culture and atmosphere.

Fundamentals – Basketball is a simple game and the little things are what make the biggest differences. This program will be based on solid fundamental basketball which will allow the program to reach its full potential.

Team Atmosphere- Team chemistry is crucial to success. Team building will be a daily emphasis in which trust will be built between players and coaches within our system. A lack of team chemistry will result in a team underachieving.

High Expectations- We will set high expectations and will take small steps towards success, realizing there will be setbacks along the way. Setting expectations for the classroom, practice, work ethic, preparation, and team building is essential in building a successful program.

Continuity - In order for a program to have sustainability and consistently perform at a high level, it is important that all levels are working within the same belief system and philosophy. Therefore, when an athlete reaches the varsity level, they are just continuing what they have already been doing and not having to learn a new system.
