Rho Kappa

DCG Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society Chapter

Rho Kappa is the only national honor society that provides recognition for excellence in the social studies. The DCG Chapter is one of only two in the state and was the first to offer Rho Kappa membership. Members are selected based upon academics (with an emphasis on social studies), service, and interest in the social studies.

Rho Kappa members once accepted take part in service projects, help conduct social studies related events such as the Veterans Day Assembly, meet with those working in the field, and take field trips to learn about areas of interest. Recently, the DCG Rho Kappa students have taken part in a White House simulation at the Truman Library and Museum, visited the Capitol to talk with legislators. checked out airplanes and Cold War weapons in the SAC Museum, toured the World War I Museum and have plans to return with even more activities in the future.
