The Tasmanian Devil are night time scavengers. This means that they hunt at night and eat animal carcasses.

 There are only about 25,000 Tasmanian Devils left in the world.

A newborn Tasmanian Devil is the size of a rice grain.

A female Tasmanian Devil can have up to 30 cubs, but only maximum 4 survive.

They are actually helping nature by eating dead carcasses which stops diseases from spreading.

他们其实在帮助地球因为他们把腐烂的东西吃掉，防止病毒传染

A Tasmanian Devil can smell food half a mile away.

They are known as devils because of their sharp howls.

Why are they endangered?

他们为什么会濒临灭绝？

Tasmanian Devil are night time predators, which means they hunt at night and scavenge. Before their number was decreasing because of farmers who believed that the Tasmanian Devils would eat their crops and destroy their food. So, whenever farmers saw them coming near their crops, they killed them. That is how Tasmanian Devils died BEFORE. But now it is different. The governments have made a law to protect Tasmanian Devils since they are endangered.  

Still there is another problem that is facing them. The Tasmanian Devil is suffering from a disease called "DFTD". It is a disease that makes their jaws swollen and stops them from eating. Scientists are trying to find a way to help, but haven't come up with a solution yet.

塔斯马尼亚恶魔是夜晚捕猎者，意思是他们在夜晚狩猎和吃腐烂的动物。以前，他们的数量在减少因为农夫，农夫们相信塔斯马尼亚恶魔会吃掉他们的稻谷和摧毁他们的产业。所以，不管什么时候，只要有塔斯马尼亚恶魔接近他们的稻谷，农夫们就会把他们杀死。这就是为是么以前塔斯马尼亚恶魔的数量急剧下降。但是现在，政府们一致同意保护塔斯马尼亚恶魔。可这却并没有解决问题，塔斯马尼亚恶魔自身也有一种疾病叫"D F T D" 这是一种让他们的嘴巴胀起来，阻止他们想吃东西。直到现在，科学家们还在努力的寻找解除疾病的方法。
