http://www2.dbs.edu.hk/furtherstudies/index.php?parentid=5&sid=10
The general entrance requirements (GER) of the 8 UGC-funded institutions are:
4 core subjects + 1 elective subject; or
4 core subjects + 2 elective subjects
(HKUST has specified “4 core subjects (including Extended Module 1or 2 of Mathematics) + 1 elective subject as an alternative to this option
For the 4-year undergraduate programmes offered by the UGC-funded institutions, applicants should have to attain Level 3 for Chinese Language and English Language and Level 2 for mathematics and Liberal Studies (i.e. “3322”).
Applied Learning Courses which are accredited and are conducted by post-secondary institutions and professional bodies are considered as elective subjects, or considered for award of extra bonus or additional information, varying by institutions, faculties or programmes.
All 8 UGC-funded institutions will recognize Other Languages (such as French) as unspecified / extra elective subjects, generally at the minimum requirement of grade E.
Other than the above, institutions will determine the faculty / programme requirements which include the attainment required for one or two elective subjects and other admission requirements.
In brief, students meeting the requirements under both the core subjects and elective subjects are eligible to apply for admission to the UGC-funded institutions. These entrance requirements are minimum requirements and selection is conducted on a competitive basis.

Sub-degree Programs and E-APP
E-APP was set up by the Education Bureau (EDB) to assist current Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination candidates in lodging advance applications for full-time locally-accredited sub-degree and undergraduate programmes not covered by the Joint University Programmes Admissions System (JUPAS).
Using E-APP, candidates only have to complete one online application to apply for multiple programmes provided by the participating institutions. Eligible applicants may receive conditional offers before the announcement of the HKDSE Examination results. On the day of HKDSE Examination result announcement (i.e. 14 July 2014), E-APP will transfer the examination results direct to respective institutions so that those institutions can confirm applicants’ offers at the earliest time. Applicants do not need to notify the institutions of their examination result in person.
Information Expo on Multiple Pathways 2013
EDB will hold the “Information Expo on Multiple Pathways 2013” (Info Expo 2013) at Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre from 4 to 5 May 2013 to help the current HKDSE Examination candidates plan for their further studies and career paths. It will feature course information from institutions and advisory services provided by major guidance and advisory organizations. There will also be talks on topics such as multiple pathways and career planning. Current HKDSE Examination candidates are encouraged to make use of E-APP and participate in the Info Expo 2013, so as to plan for their further studies. (Information for 2014 programs has not available yet.)
