Virtual Farewell Report

An event to bid farewell to the batch of 2018-21 was organized by Department of Mathematics, Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi on June 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM. The faculty members along with the students organized the farewell meet via Zoom Platform which turned out to be an emotional & memorable event for the outgoing batch. Preparations were made by the enthusiastic students of 1st and 2nd Year under the supervision of teachers. It took some serious efforts on the part of the teachers and students to execute this event amidst these tough times. The event began with a welcome address by the Teacher-in-Charge of the department, Ms. Usha Arora. She wished good luck to the final year students for their future & also expressed her hope that students will continue holding best positions in the university exams. She motivated students by sharing her own experience in life. Ms. Harindri Chaudhary also shared her words of wisdom with the audience. The event was beautifully hosted & anchored by the team of students from 1st and 2nd Year. Video messages from the teachers were played in the meet for the outgoing batch, and they took it quite positively learning something all the time. The hosts of the events had organized some online games for their seniors that were quite entertaining for majority of the students participated actively in those. Imperatively, these games were quite interactive. Then the mic was passed to the faculty members present over there and they offered valuable advices to the students for their life and opportunities to arise ahead. Host team had prepared some titles for their seniors & the same were presented to the students. Ms. Harindri Chaudhary & Dr. Pramod Arora selected the best titlesout of the lot. Later, the hosts invited the outgoing batch students to share their memories, ideas and hard learnt lessons. Everyone participated in that segment and it could be declared as the best segment of this virtual meet. At last, the event was summarized by the hosts. Ms. Usha Arora proposed her formal vote of thanks & bid farewell to the batch of 2018-21. The motivated yet emotional students found it hard to say goodbye to their college life. Every best memory has an end, and these three years at college were no exception to that.

KSHITIJ SOCIETY EVENTS

'KSHITIJ'- 'Mathematics society of Deshbandhu College' celebrated its two-day inter college annual festival "Samuchyam-2017". The first day of the event took place on 7th February 2017 which continued for eight hours. The event was open to all staff and students of the colleges of Delhi University and NCR. The event was inaugurated by the address of the chief guest Dr. Santosh Kumar Director, NIDM (National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi). He addressed many issues related with disaster management and about the importance of preparedness during natural disasters. The event was aimed to highlight creativity and innovative actions of the participants through various competitions such as Rangoli making competition, treasure hunt, slogan-logo quiz, mini-militia (a smartphones game) and Sudoku. The event not only brilliantly delivered a message of serious social issue which is often swept under the carpet, but also depicted the quantitative and qualitative analysis of risks all over. “Students must face challenges and make sure to learn from those experiences and challenges only then life would serve you better”. The society conducted the festival in a smooth manner, giving out refreshments to all attendees. Similarly the second day of the event (8th February 2017) consisted of many such competitions and students participated in large numbers. After the first day event, second day came up with many new competitions and activities such as general quiz, poster presentation, power point presentation, debate and DJ dance. The event was aimed to being out creative and innovative actions of the participants through tough competition. The society has a track record of winning several competitions both within and outside Delhi University and is considered one of the foremost mathematics societies in the University. 'KSHITIJ' organizes Samuchyam every year with a great enthusiasm. Concerning about the environment, Mathematics society is planning to conduct 'tree plantation' within the college and also to conduct a 'National conference' regarding mathematics. This is also a great way to spread knowledge and enlighten youth about the subject and the society so that 'youth' of our Nation can think of better ideas to serve Our Nation better.
