Library Policy
The DCS Library has a wonderful collection of new and classic books. We don’t have every popular series (or every book IN some series) so we ask that students try their best to be responsible with their BORROWED Library books. Afterall, the Library is for each and every student at DCS. We do not ask for payment for lost or damaged books, only that students try their best to return every book they borrowed. As we remind the students- A library is a place filled with books so without those books coming back, we would not have a library!
•Students are allowed to check out 1 library book at a time.
•Students in grades 3/4/5 will be allowed to check out 2 books at a time if they have returned books every week during the first half of the year.
•Students are allowed to renew a book once, UNLESS the book has been requested by another student.
•Students are allowed 1 book on hold, for a maximum of 2 weeks.
•Students must return their previously checked out books in order to borrow another.
Example: A Student checked out Land of Stories last week, but did not bring it back today. They may choose another book to place on hold, then said book may be checked out when Land of Stories is Returned.
•Emails home will be sent if students are struggling to return their books.
