Mekong Delta

One of the veterans I interviewed was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam war. He spoke about his patrols on the river. He experienced over 300 fire fights during his year in the country. I wanted to travel to the delta and show how it has changed.

Delta business

Tourism is huge along the delta. Many different boat trips are available.

Straw hats

Everybody wears the straw hats. They are quite light and comfortable.

Small inlets

There are hundreds of small inlets along the delta where people live.

The delta is quite busy with many businesses. The islands have electricity, water and plumbing. The government has provided many services to the people.

Great weather, great trip

Overall the trip up the delta was wonderful. I do want to go back. I got a lot of video footage.

Our guide

I spoke with our guide about my project. He is from the village of My Lai. He was very open and honest about the history of his village.

Mekong Delta

The river has become a huge tourist site. There are villages to visit. Stores to shop at and of course, lots of food.
