This is a creat summary video of a well known book about Grit.
There is some great wisdom in the video for navigating life.
I wanted to introduce you to John Maxwell. During my own personal growth journey, John Maxwell has been the most influential mentor and teacher for me personally. I am consistently listening and reading his materials. I think that he really embodies what it means, and takes, to be successful.
This is a longer video, so I will break it down into smaller chunks below. I encourage you to listen to a different section daily.
Rule 1 & 2 Rule 3 & 4 Rule 5 & 6 Rule 7 & 8 Rule 9 & 10 Bonus
This is a great speech about finding what makes you, You! Set Goals, Give it all you've got.
There is also a similar theme in this video to my "Consistent Effort over time equals success" philosophy
My favorite quotes: "To get something you've never had, you'll have to do something you've never done" and "You'll never see a a U-haul behind a hearse"
Dr. Jordan Peterson is is a Canadian clinical psychologist who has risen to prominence in some political circles. But he is also a wonderfully intelligent and introspective person. I have always found his perspectives to be spot on and helpful. His book 12 Rules for life is on my list of books I need to read, but I think this summery video is a great way to get introduced to him. Happy Monday
This is a great video for getting you thinking about your morning routines. I have not read the book that is referenced in this video, however my morning routines follows a similar structure outlined in the video.
Things I do daily that mirror this video are exercise, read, drink water, accomplish a morning task (make my bed). In place of affirmations, I do an personal growth audio while I exercise, but the idea is the same. And as for "scribing", I do that before I go to bed as part of my nighttime routine.
So basically, if you want to be successful, examine your morning routine first and foremost.
There is some amazing advice in this video. It perfectly describes the concept of Consistent Effort Over Time Equals Success. Examine your daily work habits and/or work ethic. It is a lot easier to start working your butt off now, then 20 years from now.. plus you will have so much more to show for your efforts. Even though Mark Cuban is talking about business, for the most part, everything in this video is applicable to all areas of your life. Become a lifelong learner.
Disclaimer: he does cuss a few times, but I think that the information here is something we all need to hear.
This is a fantastic video on the power of habits, and why they are so important. I can personally testify to the importance and relevance of everything in this video. We are the sum total of our habits. If you haven't watched any of these, please watch this one.
*As I have said in class, Habit First, Quality Second

About 2 years ago, I began my personal growth journey. At the time, it was a slow and inconsistent process. Early in the process, I was introduced to Brene Brown. She has written several books that dealing with courage, shame, connection and many other tough issues that we, as humans, deal with. I read Daring Greatly, one of her books, early in my journey and it was profound. I started reading it again a few days ago, so I though this would be a great Motivational Monday message as we go into Winter Break
