The A-10 light-up sign is one of the hardest projects I have done this year. The A-10 Sign I wanted to make had lights on the back that lit up the wall, not the plane; to do this, I had to program a microchip with a special website. I did need help in this dep because I haven't programmed something for a long time.
CNC
CNC cutting was the easiest part of this project. I did need Mr. Superio to run over my tool paths in order to make sure nothing messed up while cutting. The final thing came out good the edges where very rough and i had to sand a lot. I wanted to paint camo on it but when i did it didnt look very good so i sanded all of it off.
Lazer cuter
This was not the hardest, just annoying. I wanted there to detail the plane itself, so I took a whole day to make all the lines in Adobe Illustrator, and the lines were perfect. I had all the detail. There was only one problem I could never get the lines to line up nicly. I ended up being able to use a different Illustrator file, and that worked. The lines came out perfectly, I was very happy with the results
Programing
Programming was by far the hardest considering it took me 4 days to get the code set up then the led's to work. The Led's i was going to use didn't work but we were able to find different ones that I liked better because the lights just looked better to me. Also the problem of what's going to power the lights. At first I wanted to use batteries but they would died and then I would have to change them alot. So I decided to have the lights be powered by a outlet and the Micro Bit be powered by 3 AAA batteries.
