In this project, we made nameplates in fusion 360 with text that we choose. I Chose to use the name Trad for this project. We used our 3d models from fusion to create a tool path for the CNC machine to follow and cut out the name plate from 3/4 in plywood. After the nameplates were cut, we sanded the sides and used stains to give the nameplates a bit more color other than simple wood.
I've used the CNC once before, so I was basically just re-learning what I had learned before, but this time with some more time to spare so I could try to remember what I was taught. The process was pretty simple and quick, only with a couple confusing things that I could get around pretty easily.
I think that the only thing that could be improved on this project since it was very simple is the design of my piece. Right now the design is very simple with just text, and improving the design could make it look nicer.
If I were to do this project again, I would try to make the design a bit more complex. I could also try to add a 3d element with not just a 2d contour, but see what I can do with a new plane of existence. I would also try to change the design to say something else, because I wouldn't want 2 nameplates that say the same thing.
