This project was the final project and the most open ended out of all of them. For this project we had the option to use and 2 of the machines to make a finished product. I chose to use the CNC machine and the laser cutter to make a guitar body and a pick guard for it. I ordered a few parts that I'm not able to make in Fusion 360 and Adobe illustrator like the neck, tuners, pickups, etc... I used some other machines to refine the design of the guitar like a palm sander, drill, drill press, and a rasp. Some things I did to make the guitar look better was use wood stain, acrylic as the pick guard and I plan on using finish on the parts that I didn't stain.
I think the majority of this project went well, I has almost no help to design the guitar and it turned out pretty good. I think planning for this project was how I was able to make the guitar with confidence. I was planning this project for a bit prior to actually making it and thinking about how I can make it. I also made one of these types of projects before in my guitar making winterim, so I had a bit of experience in this sort of thing,
I think that this project went pretty well, but there were a few small thing that could have gone better. I could have measured some pockets a little better in order for the ordered parts to fit in better and the neck is a bit too high and the strings are touching the frets. I think that the only things that could be improved in this project were the little things.
If I were to do this project all over again, I would make sure that I have good measurements in order for all the parts to fit in the body right off the bat without having to remeasure anything. Another thing I'd do if I were to do this project again is I would try to make the design of the bass more extreme with more exaggerated features, otherwise, I think this project went as well as I'd hoped it would have.
