Meet the Team
Kelsey Knautz is a nationally certified Athletic Trainer and holds a license in Wisconsin and Illinois. She was born in Ohio and moved to Illinois in middle school. She is excited to call Darlington home. She grew up loving sports and participated in travel soccer and then continued on to play in college. She earned her Bachelor’s from Clarke University in Athletic Training and her Master’s from University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in Human Performance. She was the Head Athletic Trainer for the men’s basketball team and assisted in variety of other sports while at La-Crosse. She has worked with Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, SSM Health Monroe and OSF. Kelsey enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and two German Shepherds.
Dr. Eamon Bernardoni is Lafayette Hospital + Clinic's orthopedic surgeon. He has his Master’s in biomedical engineering and went on to complete medical school and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He takes great pride knowing his patients and athletes are receiving state of the art, compassionate, medical care in his hometown of Darlington. Dr. Bernardoni enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, who all enjoy biking, running, and skiing. When not busy with that he and his family can be found hunting and fishing.
Kari DePauw is an orthopedic physician assistant. She completed Physican Assistant school at University of Wisconsin- Madison. She sees a variety of injuries from sprains and strains to fracture care and post-surgical care. Kari enjoys spending her time doing outdoor activities as well as spending time with her family.
Christa Wille is a physical therapist with extensive training in sports medicine. She completed Physical Therapy school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and went on to complete a Sports Residency at UW Health. She especially enjoys working with high school athletes and runners of all ages and abilities. Personally, Christa enjoys running, biking, and skiing, and especially enjoys exposing youth to these sports, including her two daughters.
The rehabilitation team consists of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Cardiopulmonary Therapists and the receptionist. They treat a variety of sports related injuries including sprains and strains, mobility impairments, general aches and pains, and pre- and post-surgical rehab. The team may use a variety a treatments and modalities including strengthening exercises, stretching, electrical stimulation, massage, heat, ice or ultrasound. Some of the team has specialties in dry needling, manual techniques with instrument assist or cupping, vestibular, lymphedema and incontinence.
Together, the Sports Medicine team will offer the care and services you need to excel in your sports and activities. If your athlete sustains an injury that needs to be seen in the orthopedic clinic, they can be seen in our student athlete time slots that are coordinated through Kelsey.
