What is an Athletic Trainer?
Athletic Trainers (ATs) are multi-skilled healthcare professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sport related injuries/illnesses.
Licensed and Certified
Athletic Trainers differ from Personal Trainers in education, skillset, job duties, and patients. Athletic Trainers must obtain a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program where the academic curriculum and clinical training follows a medical model. In order to practice as a Certified Athletic Trainer, they must complete and pass an exam.
ATs treat everything...
From weakness and injuries to giving recommendations to improve function, Athletic Trainers will give education on stretching and functional exercises. They provide professional healthcare at your school.
