Science Olympiad National Tournament - Highlights.mp4

Description of Course:

This course is a quarter-long course offered in the Spring for students in the 6th-8th grade. The purpose of the course is to allow students to demonstrate acquired science skills from the magnet program in a competitive setting as a Science Olympiad Team. Science Olympiad is a nationally organized competition where students compete in a series of skills-based events. Teams that earn enough points can move on to further events on the State and National level.

Scope and Sequence:

Science Olympiad Events

In this topic, we will explore the science olympiad events and what they ask students to do as part of the event.

Training for Events

In this topic, we will explore some of the common events for a science olympiad competition.

Creation of Event Materials

In this topic, we will experiment with different designs for the design competition.

Science Olympiad Competition

In this topic, we will test our new skills in a competitive setting.
