Kia ora!
Kya is our awesome 24/7 Youth Worker at Darfield High School. She works for 10 hours each week and her purpose for being at school is to support you guys, the students at DHS.
You might see Kya around at lunchtimes, or joining in with some of your classes, school events and camps. She runs programmes for small groups of students and is available if you just want to chat. Often it helps to have someone a bit older to be able to talk to about what’s going on, such as:
- An idea you have and want some help to develop
- You want a mentor
- You'd like some help with setting goals and thinking about the future
- You're keen to have some help getting yourself organised with school work
- Leadership development
- You're going through a tough time or have a problem you want to talk through
24/7 want to provide a space for you to feel welcome to come and join in during lunch at the Youth Office when Kya's around, to play games and hang out. She'll also run some events throughout the year. So if you see h around, feel free to come over and say hi or stop in for a chat.
You can contact Kya on email:
