The Lowdown

Lowdown is a website to help young New Zealanders recognise and understand depression or anxiety. The site includes helpful information on anxiety and depression, guidance on other issues such as bullying and relationships, steps to help build healthy mental well-being, places to go to get help, and information for anyone worried about a friend.

Mental Health Education and Resource Centre

This site includes an in-depth directory of mental health services in the Canterbury region. They list depression, anxiety, counselling, youth, legal, addiction, LGBT, Maori, and sexual abuse services, to name a few.

Mental Health Foundation

The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand is a charity that works towards creating a society free from discrimination, where all people enjoy positive mental health and wellbeing. 

On their website, you will find information on mental health conditions, where to get help and how to support those you love. You will also find stories about real New Zealanders and their struggles with mental health.

The 298 Youth Health Centre

Run by the Korowai Youth WellBeing Trust, they provide free counselling services for those aged 10-24 years in Christchurch.
