Hawks in Harmony rehearses Tuesday afternoons, from 2:00-3:00, in room 236. Students must attend all rehearsals (barring absence from school) to remain in the ensemble.

Auditions are held in September for any interested HRMS student who participates in music (either in or outside of school - see below).

Below, please find audition forms and information, and the requirements/guidelines for accepted singers.

HAWKS IN HARMONY AUDITIONS 2018-2019

1. Open to any student at HRMS who is currently in chorus, band, jazz band, or who studies music privately after school.

1. Audition dates - Wednesday September 11 and Thursday September 12, 2:00-3:30pm. Students will sign up for an audition date, and will need to be present for their entire 10 minute audition window. They will sing in front of, and then with, 5-6 peers to test harmonizing and pitch matching skills.

2. WHAT TO PREPARE?

  • A pop or musical theatre selection, approximately 1-2 minutes in length OR one verse and one chorus.
    • Selections that are too short may not give a good picture of the student's abilities, and selections that are too long may be cut off due to time constraints!
    • YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SING A SHORT "MYSTERY TUNE" familiar to all singers, as well as harmonic passage.

3. Returning 2018-2019 Hawks in Harmony Members will complete the HARMONIZING/MYSTERY TUNE portion of the audition. PLEASE sign up for a time slot, or your spot in the group will go to new singer!

4. PERCUSSION/BEAT BOXERS - We need you! Please be prepared to demonstrate percussion abilities during the audition.
