Friday September 14, 2018: Due date for

  • Handbook signed and returned
  • Practice Contract (found in Band Survival Guide)
  • Purchase of Essential Elements Book 2 and link to Mr. Saetta's class
  • Concert Attendance Plan for trimester 1
  • 1-inch binder, organized with materials from class


Winter Concert Dates

  • 6th Grade Band- Tuesday, January 15th (6:45 call time)
  • 7th Grade Band- Wednesday, January 16th (6:45 call time)
  • 8th Grade Band - Thursday, January 17th (6:45 call time)

Concert Dress

All students are required to wear:

  • Danvers Band Polo (White if incoming 6th grader or Blue if 7th or 8th grade). To order polo, please submit attached document to Mr. Saetta by October 12, 2018, cost $12 check or money order only (no cash)
  • Black dress pants or Khaki pants
    • jeans, athletic pants, and yoga pants are not professional and may not be worn
  • Dresses and skirts must cover to ankle, or with tights underneath
  • Black or brown dress shoes
    • Athletic shoes, sneakers, and flip flops are not appropriate attire

Essential Elements Interactive

This is the primary source for performance band assignments and grading (although this will also be posted in Powerschool). Essential Elements Interactive

With this resource, students will:

  • View assignments and due dates
  • Record weekly practice time. THIS IS DUE BY SUNDAY NIGHT EVERY WEEK AND IS NOT EFFECTED BY CLASS SCHEDULE. This counts toward their Preparation Grade (worth 20%)
  • Record performance assignments using chromebook for assessments, check-ins, and feedback; this is used for method book exercises, scales, band music, etc
  • If recording a method book exercise- students can just click on assignment and a backing track will be available
  • If recording an exercise not in the book (band music, scale, etc), the need to click on "Music Studio". They can free record here, as well as utilize the build in metronome

Concert Attendance

Students must attend at least one live concert per year, as well as stream one live concert on youtube or other online source, totaling 2 Concerts per year.

Students must write a reflection on the concert which they can find on their Google Classroom under assignments. Please answer in complete sentences.
