SEN Lessons
Both Danielle and Beth have a background working with children and teenagers who have a SEN, providing support in SEN and mainstream Schools, with children who have or need an EHCPs.
They know the challenges that this can sometimes pose, both to parents and to swimmers. We offers 1:1 lessons at Everlast, during daytime quieter pool times, for those that may not be in main stream schools, to still experience the sensory and physical benefits of swimming, and to learn crucial lifesaving swimming skills.
They understand that there may be days when getting in the water, or even to the venue just will not happen, however has a variety of strategies to overcome this, even if it means simply having some time to play on the waters edge! Parents are able to be on hand, on pool side, to provide support and comfort, and it is a very relaxed environment.
We also offer group lessons for those that may be confident in the water and able to thrive in a 2:1 lesson, but require a smaller class size and pupil led development. A large proportion of our swimmers, have additional needs, such as Autism, ADHD, PDA and other Neuro-spicy conditions. We firmly believe this should not be a barrier to swimming, and that it is down to us, as Swim Teachers, to tailor our approach so that everyone can enjoy the water!
Please get in touch directly with Danielle if you feel this is something you would like to discuss further. Danielle is Neuro-spicy herself so she fully understands the challenges swimmers can face, along with the sensory release being in a pool can achieve.
