Drop-off/Pick-up

The gates open at 8:35 for you to walk the children to the classroom. Children need to be in school by 8:45 or they are marked as late. The children go into the classroom without you, and soon get used to the routine of where to put their coats, bags and water bottles.

Some children cry at drop off - starting school is a big change for them. The tears rarely last long once they are in the classroom. We will always let you know if they remain upset.

The gates open for pick up at 3:10, ready for you to collect the children at 3:15.

We will not let the children leave the classroom until we know their adult is there at the door. Please bear with us while we get to know you. If your child is being picked up by someone different from usual, please make sure we have been told. We will not let any child go with someone unless we have express permission from parents/carers.

If you need to talk to the teacher, after school is better as they will have more time. In the morning they are very busy settling a class full of children into their day, so urgent messages only, please.

There is very limited parking outside school. It's best to walk to school - nearly all our families live in easy walking distance. Parking in the school car park is only allowed after discussion with the headteacher. Please park considerately if using nearby streets - our neighbours do not appreciate being blocked in!
