NHSDA National Induction Point System
At least 15 points are required for induction, 10 of which must be earned through participation in chapter site program activities.
At least 30 points are required for induction, 20 of which must be earned through participation in chapter site program activities.
Additional Point Tracking Guidelines
Off-Site Participation: Chapter Sponsor will assign points within the guidelines based on the detailed description of the activity, once the activity form is turned in.
Additional Opportunities will be emailed and assigned a point value as they arise.
Essay Topics: 1 point each
A 1-2 page essay on any of the following topics:
Important uses of dance in the community today
How dance impacts an audience of non-dancers
Is dancing an inborn talent or can it be learned?
What careers can a background in dance prepare you for?
Dance: Sport or not?
How has social media changed the dance world?
How has Covid changed the dance world?
What impact have shows like SYTYCD and Dancing with the Stars had on dance education?
Biography and personal statement on a choreographer you admire or whom you’d like to know more about
*Any topic of your choice can be written with prior approval from the Chapter Sponsor
Review Topics: 1 point each
A 1-2 page review on any of the following:
A review on any professional production you have recently seen LIVE
A review on any dance show/film you have recently watched
As part of your review you must cite the choreographer(s), and make personal references to the characters/choreography/music along with any personal statements or opinions that directly relate to the performance.
