COMPASS

COMPASS is an online tool for Pennsylvanians to apply for many health and human service programs and manage benefit information.

There are a lot of reasons why kids or teens might not have health insurance —maybe their parents lost a job, don't have health insurance at work, or maybe other options just cost too much. Whatever the reason, if your child or teen is uninsured and ineligible for or enrolled in Medical Assistance, the Children's Health Insurance Program — or CHIP — may be able to help. Having high-quality, low-cost health insurance helps keep your kids strong — CHIP Strong!

Community Care Behavioral Health Organization offers Mental Health Treatment, Substance Use Disorder Treatment, and more.

Community REACH, Inc. is open to minister to the least fortunate in our community.  However, instead of guests entering the facility (due to social distancing restrictions) all distributions from the pantry are made curbside.  New clients are being received, people in need are encouraged to CALL the agency to arrange for an intake assessment.  The agency phone number is: (717)244-6934

Internet Essentials from Comcast offers internet discounts/free services for families in need.  For information call 1-855-846-8376.

Dallastown Cat Packs is a weekend backpack program that provides supplemental food to families in need in Grades 4-12 within the Dallastown Area School District.

DASD Social Services Fund

Approximately  thirty percent of Dallastown students live in poverty. That means nearly 1/3 of DASD families may face each day without essentials of life, such as proper food, shelter, transportation, and medical care because of various factors, including low wages, job loss, injuries, illness, and incarceration.

The DASD Social Services Fund (SSF) has been created for a district-wide coordinated effort to help increase student access to unmet basic needs. The SSF will allow students to take home some of the essentials they need, whether that’s food, clothing, shoes, basic hygiene items, linens, access to transportation, and much more. It will help enhance the district’s various efforts in supporting our students.

While the SSF will certainly not resolve all of the tribulations some of our families face, it will ensure that all Dallastown students’ rudimentary needs are more efficiently satisfied.

Your partnership through financial support is greatly appreciated. Your generous tax-deductible gift will truly make a difference. Checks can be made payable to DASD Social Services Fund.

Feel free to contact Mr. Keith Dyke Supervisor of Social and Student Services, with questions at (717) 244-4021, ext. 4268. Thank you for considering a contribution to the DASD Social Services Fund
