"Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late."
The Dallastown CARES initiative provides a framework for inspiring and creating an equitable environment and embracing diversity. The program establishes consistent and cohesive expectations and character development at DASD.

Health Bulletin
The Department of Health, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, has directed that children attending schools in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania receive a MEDICAL examination on original entry into school (Kindergarten/ First Grade) and in grades 6 and 11. A DENTAL examination is required on original entry (Kindergarten/ First Grade) and in grades 3 and 7.
We are further directed to urge parents to have these physical and dental examinations done by their family physician and family dentist. It is felt that they will have a better knowledge of the past health history of the child and be in the best position to recommend immediate steps for any needed remedial care.
Medical and dental exams are accepted up to one year, beginning July 1, prior to the opening of school for the required exam that year. Completed forms should be returned to the School Nurse.
Please note that students in grade 11 who participate in school sports may use one exam for both the sports physical and the state-mandated physical. In this case, the sports physical exam form should be used, and it must be dated no earlier than June 1st of the school year in which the sport will be played.
The following screenings are mandated by the state of Pennsylvania and will be conducted annually:
VISION will be checked for all children in all grades.
HEARING will be checked for children in grades K, 1, 2, 3, 7, and 11.
SCOLIOSIS screenings will be conducted for all children in grades 6 and 7.
HEIGHT, WEIGHT & BMI calculations will be completed for all children in all grades.
Upon completion of your child’s physical and dental exams, please forward them directly to the school nurse at your child’s school. The following fax numbers are provided for your convenience:
