A MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL SANTOS
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers who helped make this Field Day an extra special one for our Trailblazers. We were blown away by your willingness to participate in each and every event and help out wherever help was needed. The laughter, joy and excitement that could be heard and felt in the halls on Friday was proof of what this day meant for our girls and it would NOT have been the same without the support we received from everyone. Whether you helped stuff field day bags, passed out water, lead an event, watched a class so a teacher could eat lunch or just showed up ready, you made this day extra-special! Thank you!
While we would LOVE for everyone in our community and BEYOND to be at Lemonade Day, this year we are asking for your help. Let's be mindful of our neighbors! Please help us by limiting the traffic to one car per family and ensuring that each car only visits FOUR stands to keep our traffic moving. This will also help us keep our rotations as on track and on-time as possible. We are not sharing this event with the wider community on social media. We are so excited to have this opportunity for our girls and appreciate all of your support. Reach out to the front office or your child's teacher with any more specific questions!
Parents will have the opportunity to select from new or existing stops through June 18, 2021. Parents will need to select 1st and 2nd choice bus stops. The 1st choice school list includes existing bus stops and new stops. The 2nd choice school list only includes existing bus stops.

Help us make sure everyone gets to attend! We are asking that each family use this zoom link twice (two different devices). We only have capacity for 300 guests per zoom. Please NAME YOURSELF using your scholar's name (Ex - O. Santos' Family) so that we can ensure that we don't have any unwanted guests. For the safety of all families and students, you will be placed in the waiting room if your name is not updated.
THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE COMMITMENT TO RETURN Google FORM THAT WAS FILLED OUT IN FEBRUARY.
ALL NEW AND RETURNING FAMILIES MUST REGISTER EACH SCHOOL YEAR. THIS YEAR WE ARE MOVING TO SCHOOLMINT INSTEAD OF POWERSCHOOL. PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU NEED HELP!
All students need to enroll annually.

We want make sure that ALL of our families had access to school pictures this year. The Make-up Picture day will only be for students. who did NOT get their picture taken on our fall picture day. Pictures will be taken by PTO. We appreciate your understanding and have a plan to include both fall AND spring pictures for next school year!
We recognize the discomfort the changes to the mask mandate may bring to many members of our Solar family. The majority of students are still not old enough to receive a vaccination and we know that this virus is still a very present threat. The district continues to highly encourage everyone to wear masks inside of school buildings.
I am very confident in our staff and students, as we will work together to keep everyone safe and healthy and learn from this experience as well. The last ten days of school (June 7-18) will give us the opportunity to demonstrate empathy and leadership. We have had an incredibly supportive effort from all of our families all year long and we believe this supportive effort will help us through the remainder of the year. As we follow suit with the district recommendations we want you to know that regardless of your families decision, we will treat all students with equity and respect in mind.
Dallas ISD remains committed to continue following social distancing and sanitation protocols. The district will continue studying best practices in the coming weeks and will share updates with our students, staff and families.
