Biography: Mrs. Malchow was born Dec. 31st in California, but grew up in Everman, TX, a small city surrounded by Ft. Worth. She graduated from Everman HS. She went to UT Arlington for 1 year and decided to take some time off. After 3 years, she went back and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts, Major - Journalism and Minor - Business. She was a teller during her college days and thinks it's a great job because of the flexibility for studying. She started teaching in 2002 and went through Dallas ISD Alternative Program. She started in elementary and has taught 1st, 3rd, 5th and now High School. She went back to get a Masters in Social Work because she wanted to be a families and children's counselor, but she started working for Samuell and decided to get a 2nd Masters in Education. She started at Samuell 8 years ago as an ESOL teacher/LPAC Chair and now is an instructional coach.
She is married to Andrew for 10 years in November and has an 9-year old named Everett Lee. In her down time, she loves to read and cook. Also, she spends time camping, traveling and watching movies.

Biography: Mr. Eric Latimer was born in Houston Texas on September 6th and is the youngest of 3 kids. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in Houston where he participated in technical theater and Army JROTC. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a double Minor in History and National Security Studies. After college he enlisted in the US Air Force Reserve as a 2T2 Air Transportation Specialist.
He is a certified social studies teacher with the state of Texas, and he teaches AP Human Geography and has taught Pre-AP World Geography. His favorite hobbies include running, hiking, reading, learning new languages and playing videogames.
Biography: Ms. Mary Bell was born in Dallas, Texas, on June 28th, she was the only child of her mother and the 2nd of 9 children of her father’s. During her formative years, she was raised in East Texas, where the whole community was responsible for the children guidance.
She later moved back to Dallas, where she attended and graduated from Skyline Career Development Center, with a high school diploma and Cosmetology License. She also participant in Project Upward Bound at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX.
In 1979, she graduated from Grambling State University (a Historically Black College and University), with a Cum Laude Bachelor’s Degree in Geography.
After graduating from college, she started working as a Substitute Teacher for Dallas Independent School District. In 1982, she went to work in the Financial Industry, where she provided positive and professional banking administration. In 2004, she returned to work for the Dallas Independent School District as a Geography Teacher. She holds a lifetime Certification in Social Studies. She is presently teaching 9th Grade World Geography. Her favorite hobbies are traveling, walking in nature, and reading financial publications.

Biography: Mr. Scoggins grew up in a small East Texas town and graduated high school in June 2009. From there, he went on to Texas A&M University-Commerce and got a bachelor's degree in History and Political Science. In 2016, he returned to Texas A&M University-Commerce to pursue a Masters of Education, and in 2017 he was admitted at Texas Wesleyan University to pursue a Doctor of Education degree. Mr. Scoggins has been at W.W. Samuell High School for four years, teaching social studies.

Biography: Mr Hughes was born in April and grew up in Dallas Texas . He spent most of the time in Pleasant Grove being a long time member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and working at his father's funeral home on Buckner Blvd. He graduated with honors from Crandall High School where he was a very active in sports and student life.
He graduated from Texas Christian University and earned his teaching certificate from East Texas State University.
Before teaching he worked as an ambulance driver, irrigator, youth pastor, installed automatic pool covers, architect firm admin, and other fields.
He has taught in Dallas for over twenty years as a successful debate coach. He holds certifications in Debate, Speech, Social Studies Composite, and CTE Business and Finance.
He loves Samuell and Pleasant Grove.

Biography: Mrs. Samantha Urban Wittrock teaches Advanced Placement and Pre-Advanced Placement World History at W.W. Samuell High ECHS. For her fourth year, she is the Sponsor for W.W. Samuell High’s Model UN and UNICEF Club, which encourages and inspires our students to think critically, debate respectfully, and creatively solve problems while volunteering in their community. Following in the traditions and philosophies of Maria Montessori and John Dewey, Mrs. Wittrock believes that only through teaching and valuing the whole student, meeting the student where they are, and by leading through service will our students truly be educated.
Prior to this position, she taught general education and life skills to the differently-abled at home programs and an early childhood center in Wyoming. She also spent time both in the corporate world (logistics) and out in the field as an archaeologist and Site Interpreter with the United States Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service.
Mrs. Wittrock is an alumna of the University of Wyoming, having studied anthropology and agroecology with an interest in Secondary Education. Among her other accomplishments in theology and published work available online through the UW Press, she also holds certificates in Geographic Information Systems and spends development summers on archaeological work or historical transcribing projects for various universities and state historical preservation societies. She enjoys volunteering with civic organizations and her church, anything to do with her dogs, and working in her garden and home.

Biography: Mr. Daisey holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from Purdue University (’11) and a master’s degree in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University (’20). Mr. Daisey started teaching in New Orleans through Teach for America before moving to Samuell High School. Mr. Daisey was the 2016-2017 Social Studies Teacher of the Year, the 2017 – 2018 Teacher of the Year, and was rated “exemplary” by the Texas Education Agency in 2019 – 2020. Mr. Daisey currently teaches US History and AP US History. Mr. Daisey also coaches the Samuell chess team which earned third place in the 2019 DISD District-Wide Chess Tournament. In his spare time, Mr. Daisey enjoys spending time with his significant other, Lucy, and their rabbit, Sparkle. He also enjoys hiking, reading, running, and target shooting.

Biography: Mr. Faith holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from Texas Tech University (’15) He completed his student teaching at Lubbock High IB School before moving to Mesquite, to teach at Samuell High School in 2015. He was rated “recognized” by the Texas Education Agency in 2019 – 2020. Mr. Faith currently teaches both US History and is the Lead in World History. Mr. Faith is the Varsity Defensive Line coach on the football team (’15) and the Head Coach for the baseball team (’20). Mr. Faith was a member of the Bi District Football Champions in 2016. Mr. Faith also serves as a Mentor Teacher, TEI Expert, Safety Team Member, Avid and the sponsor of Rap Club. In his spare time, Mr. Faith enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys camping, rapping, writing, and enjoying time with his dog, Marley, aka “Bob”.

Biography: I was born on April 16th in Dallas, TX. I graduated from David W. Carter HS in 2001. I received a BA in Political Science and Public administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. I also have a masters in Public Administration as well as a Masters in Education. I am certified in social studies. I have been coaching high school sports for 13 years. 10 years as a football coach and basketball for 13 years.

Biography: Ti'Ara W. Arnold was born in Dallas and raised between Texas and Louisiana. She graduated from Plano East High School earning a state medal in track and field and received a scholarship to attend Kansas State University. While attending Kansas State University Coach Arnold earned a spot on the USA Jr National team and qualified for the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trails. She graduated with her Bachelors of Science in American Ethnic Studies and a Bachelors of Science in History with a Women Studies minor. Coach Arnold also has a Masters in Education: Curriculum and Instruction and is certified to teach social studies. She loves learning and sharing history, especially the untold stories. Coach Arnold was married in 2017 and is a mother of two amazing boys. She enjoys writing, working out, coaching, knitting, reading, helping others, and all types of creative arts.

Bio: Mr. McGuin was born in Englewood, New Jersey. He moved around the country with his family until he graduated from Jeffersonville High School (Jeffersonville, IN) in 1991. He is a 1998 graduate of Huston-Tillotson University (Austin, TX). He graduated from Gammon Theological Seminary (Atlanta, GA) with a Master of Divinity in 2003. In 2005, he graduated from Clark Atlanta University’s (Atlanta, GA) School of Library Science. From 2005 to 2017 he was an academic reference/ instruction librarian in Georgia and Louisiana. Mr. McGuin and his wife are the proud parents of two children. He enjoys playing with the family dog, gardening, reading webcomics and listening to various cultural podcasts. He looks forward to being part of the Spartan team as a Psychology and Sociology teacher.
