Arrival & Dismissal Reminders-

Arrival (7:35–8:00 a.m.)

• Please wait to enter the driveway until 7:35 a.m. to allow buses and staff to enter. Cars may only arrive earlier if participating in the before-school program.

• Enter Forest Park from Mockingbird coming from the Harry Hines Rd. direction to make a right turn. Left turns into Forest Park are strongly discouraged.

• In the mornings, please double line on Forest Park Rd. (similar to dismissal) to allow more cars into the street. Merge into one lane as you turn toward the playground side of the building.

• Cars must yield to buses—if a bus is entering, please allow it to go first.

• Students arriving after 8:10 am must go to the main office to sign in. Arrival after 8:10 am will result in your child being marked tardy.

Dismissal (Begins at 3:20 p.m.)

• Please do not arrive before 3:00 p.m. to prevent early backups on Mockingbird.

• Only two lanes will be used to enter Forest Park Rd. moving forward. The third lane cannot be safely managed.

• Follow the directions of our flaggers, who will help guide traffic.

• Please remain in your car. If you need to buckle a seatbelt or provide extra help, pull into a parking spot.

• Notify the main office by 2:00 p.m. if your child’s dismissal plan will change. This helps us prepare after-school students for car line pickup.

General Reminders

• Always drive to the end of the sidewalk by the gym so the maximum number of cars can enter the driveway.

• To reduce congestion on Mockingbird, consider this alternate route: from Harry Hines, go westbound, cross Mockingbird, turn right on Hawes Rd., then right on Forest Park Rd. to approach the school directly.

• Use patience when navigating arrival and dismissal. Our district and community partners are here to help ensure safety and efficiency.

Partnership with UTD Brain Institute

We value our relationship with our neighbors and ask for your help with the following:

• Do not use the UTD Brain Institute driveway as a shortcut from Mockingbird—this is a safety issue and blocks their staff’s access.

• Keep all driveways clear so their staff can enter and exit without delay.

• Only cross the street if a Biomedical staff member is assisting you.
