Steve Green is entering his 18th year coaching track and field. It's his 3rd year with the Dade County track program as head coach. He also teaches English at the high school.
Steve ran track for Augusta Christian Schools, which was a top 3 program in GISA AAA in 2003. His coaching stops include Augusta Christian (5 years), Curtis Baptist (2 years), Thomas Jefferson (2 years), Creekside Christian (3 years), Community Christian (2 years), and Bethlehem Christian (1 year).
Coach Green's boys and girls teams at Curtis Baptist were GISA 1-A Region Champions with the girls finishing 3rd at the state meet. At Thomas Jefferson Academy, his girls team was 3rd in the region with only five members on the roster. He started the track program at Creekside Christian, both teams winning the Covenant Invitational. At Community Christian, he coached jumpers on the Region 1-AAA runner up boys team that included Tyler Coleman who finished top 2 in the region in the long, triple and high jumps and won the AAA state title in the high jump.
Coach Green works primarily with the jumpers at Dade County where he saw Stella Henry shine with region titles in the long, triple, high jumps as well as the 100 meters. She won the AA State Title in the triple jump, was second in the long, and third in the high jump. In 2023, he saw three male jumpers place in the top 8 in long, triple and high jumps including Braylon Sullivan who won the region title in the long jump.
