"One Click College Admit is Illinois’ direct college admission program into Illinois public institutions.
Through this State of Illinois program, high school seniors and community college transfer students in Illinois will receive college acceptances into the state’s public universities by meeting only one criterion for admission: grade point average (GPA).
This program waives applications, application fees, essays, and letters of recommendation for students."
The Academic Year 2027 junior opt in portal opened August 14, 2026, and closes May 28, 2027.
On August 27, 2026, current seniors who opted into One Click College Admit last academic year and were matched for direct admission will receive an email from the Common App announcing their admission offers to Illinois public universities and community colleges. About a week earlier, they will receive a congratulatory message from Governor Pritzker, sent via ISAC.
Some current seniors who opted in were not matched because their information did not align with school submitted data or their GPA was not received by the July 1st deadline. ISAC worked with schools through August 10th to resolve missing data. Unmatched students will receive an ISAC email on August 27th explaining that no direct admission offer can be made at this time, along with information about an alternative pathway.
For current seniors who did not opt in, or who opted in but were not matched, direct admission remains available. Students can create or log into their Common App account and enter their GPA. Within a week, they will receive direct admission offers from universities to which they meet the general admission GPA requirement, along with information about their local community college. This process begins September 8, 2026, and continues throughout Academic Year 2027.
