Description: West Chicago has partnered with two local high schools to sponsor a College, Career, and Wellness Fair. This is a student non-attendance day at WEGO. This is a great opportunity to get information from colleges, to gather information about careers that you’re interested in, or to get a part-time or summer job! Tables will be set-up in the main gym, red and vet field houses to visit at your leisure. Come for the entire time, or stay for a half hour- it’s up to you! There will be prizes and giveaways. Pre-register by scanning the QR code on the flyers. Pre-registered students will enter through Door 15 and unregistered students will enter through Door 16.

Description: Representatives will be present from various colleges, trades, military branches, and careers in Commons. There will be a special Access and Accommodations presentation from 5:30-6:30pm in the Community Room. This presentation will discuss the most common changes to accommodations and support services for students with disabilities as they transition from having an IEP or 504 Plan in High School to College. The speaker will provide information and guidance on how parents and students can proactively prepare for these changes. Much of this presentation is relevant to transitioning to any College or University, with highlights on the specific process for College of DuPage.

WeGo Counselors, The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) and College of DuPage hosted our Senior Parent Meeting on September 1, 2022. Senior families are encouraged to review the presentations and follow-up with your students Counselor if you have any additional questions. The presentations are below for your reference.
Senior Parent Night Presentation
Description: Our Sophomore Parent Night will be virtual this year.
Gavin Engel, WEGO counselor, will highlight the Career Page on the WEGO Counseling Site and provide many avenues for students to pursue in order to become more in tune with possible career paths for post high school planning.
Adriana Francois from Lite Leaders (Leaders in Transformational Education), will highlight the not for profit which is committed to exposing students to different pathways within the working world.
Erin Hack with My College Planning Team will present on the right fit for college selection and the many different strategies that can be used to make it more affordable.
WEGO graduate, Luis Rubio from Southern Illinois University, will be hosting a Zoom panel along with fellow classmates representing the Latino Medical Student Association which strives to support current and future health providers with the resources to advocate for the health of the Latino community. They will tell their stories and answer any questions. This Zoom meeting event is for any WEGO student interested in pursuing a career within the medical field.
