More information about newspapers can be accessed from the Reading page, they include:

• NY Times (in school access only)

• Chicago Sun Times (open access)

• Chicago Tribune (password required)

Magazines

All magazines are accessed using the Flipster platform.  See the carosel below for titles. 

If you are not taken directly to Flipster, click on Access Through Your Institution and use your school Google account for access.

Databases

Student Resources in Context is the best database to use for current event articles. To limit the search results to current events:

• Click 'Advanced Search'. 

• Set 'Publication Date(s)' to 'After' the date based on your assignment

  • Example: if today is Sep 22, 2024 and you need an article from the past 10 days, set the date to after Sep 12, 2024

• Set 'Content Type' to 'News' or 'Magazines'

• Set 'Document Type' to 'Article' 

• Click Search

• Use the 'Filter Your Results' buttons on the right to limit your results
