Grants Pass High School is fortunate to have a dedicated and talented faculty and staff who play a crucial role in ensuring the school operates seamlessly. Among these outstanding educators is Teresa Connelly, a highly regarded English teacher at GPHS.
Connelly has been a dedicated educator for 36 years. She specializes in teaching Advanced Sophomore English and AP Literature. Outside of the classroom, she finds joy in camping, hiking, experimenting with new recipes, and diving into captivating books. When it comes to her students, Connelly is wholeheartedly committed to ensuring that each and every one of them feels valued and supported in and out of the classroom. Connelly's students often praise her for being full of energy, sweet, very friendly, upbeat and lively. Many students find her class to be incredibly relaxing, noting that it is not too stressful and that she gives students plenty of time to work on their assignments.
Since the age of seven, Connelly has been driven by a strong desire to become a teacher, feeling that it is her true purpose in life. When students express apprehension about taking her class, she urges them to be courageous and have faith in the learning process. Although the experience may initially evoke anxiety, she assures that students will ultimately appreciate the decision to enroll. Her advice to all students is to embrace kindness and use this time in their lives to explore numerous opportunities. She encourages them to open as many doors as possible, to be adventurous in exploring different paths, and to surround themselves with supportive and trustworthy individuals who have their best interests at heart.
Connelly is dedicated to her role as an educator and delights in the distinctiveness of each class she teaches. She finds genuine excitement in the individuality of every class, believing that it enriches her overall teaching experience. Upon departing her class, Connelly aspires for her students to appreciate that the value of learning extends far beyond the acquisition of skills. She hopes that they will come to realize the significance of recognizing and embracing the inherent goodness and beauty in the world. Connelly treasures her position as a teacher because it allows her to play a part, however small, in her students' lively and diverse lives, fostering their intellectual and personal development.
Connelly is a dedicated and exceptional educator at GPHS. She consistently engages with each student in a compassionate manner, offering unwavering support and understanding. It is evident that teaching is Connelly's true passion and purpose in life, as she continuously strives to make a positive impact on her students lives.
