What is Z Club?

Z Club just translates directly to "Zonta Club." If you're unfamiliar with Zonta, it's an international organization that strives for building more equitable environments. The GPHS Z Club is sponsored by Zonta and follows the same idea of building a more equitable school environment. Their motto is "Enhancing our community through service and advocacy." What are some projects that Z Club has done in the past?

Z Club is involved in many projects, including volunteering for the annual Girls Rock! event, hosted here at Grants Pass High School, which inspires girls to pursue careers in STEM. They have also helped to put together holiday gifts for children in the foster care system. Z Club also has regularly attended the monthly TIDE where students, teachers, parents, and administration alike gather to brainstorm new ways of improving the equity within our school's community. These are just a few of their previous projects. If you have any concerns with the equity within our community and want it to improve, Z Club is a great way to transform your ideas into action!

There are! Right now Z Club is compiling a list of all the active clubs during distanced-learning in order to help students discover clubs to join. If you are a part of a GPHS club right now that is still active during distanced-learning, then you can contact m.herzig@d7apps.gp.k12.or.us with the club advisor's contact information and a quick summary on what the club does.
