Quarantine can provide many with more free time to spend however leisurely they wish, but for a lot of people, we yearn for the times where we could just live our life without the grief that COVID-19 has brought. In this poem, Cayden will express his feelings about quarantine.
The sweet, crisp air
Stung the lungs
Everyone in despair
For quarantine has begun.
No hope in sight,
To go back to daily life.
And online school hid the light
Stuck doing chores, not a highlight.
Lonely with no friends
Even missing those we used to hate seeing
We just want this quarantine to end!
I feel like fleeing.
I daydream of dancing in a field
Leaping and spinning
If only I had a shield
To keep this horrible disease from spreading.
I miss my life,
My friends, gymnastics, school
My home is no longer paradise.
I’m stuck; it’s not cool.
